The Malawi Liverpool Wellcome (MLW) Digital Library, located on the first floor of the Clinical Research Excellence and Training Open Resource (CREATOR) building, plays a central role in advancing research and academic excellence within MLW and across Malawi. Anchored in its mission to support high-quality health research and the training of future scientists, the library ensures easy access to up-to-date digital resources, supporting the broader academic and scientific community with tools to drive innovation and improve public health outcomes.

The library serves a wide spectrum of users including MLW researchers, trainees, operations staff, and postgraduate students from Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) and Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH). Through platforms such as Research4Life, users can access over 200,000 e-resources, including e-books and journals from over 200 publishers. The library also provides versatile study areas, an Open Discussion Area for group work and the Nzeru Library for silent study, catering to diverse user needs.

Equipped with modern technology, the MLW Digital Library offers 27-inch All-in-One computers with projection capabilities and extends beyond information access to include training and support services. These range from manuscript writing and publishing guidance to training in literature searches, citation styles, and reference management tools such as Mendeley and Zotero. Researchers also receive support with bibliometrics, journal selection, and open-access publishing.

Looking ahead, the library plans to roll out new services, including subscriptions to some online academic databases and AI-powered academic tools, plagiarism detection via Turnitin, and access to digital newspapers such as eNation and eDaily Times. With expert librarian support, extended hours, fast internet, and a conducive learning environment, the MLW Digital Library stands as a reliable hub for knowledge, empowering researchers and learners to make meaningful contributions that impact Malawi and the world.
